Theme: The Parables

Overview: The year of wisdom continues as we explore one of Jesus’ primary tools for teaching wisdom: parables. Parables are short stories that use everyday scenarios to reveal deep spiritual truths. In our study, we will talk about the purpose of parables, uncover tools for interpreting them, and study some of the most well-known of Jesus’ parables.

  •  Week 1 – The Parable of the Sower (Mark 4:1-20)

  • Week 2 – The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

  • Week 3 – Parables of the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 13:44-49)

  • Week 4 – The Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16)

  • Week 5 – Parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, and lost son (Luke 15:1-32)
