Never a Quiet Season at Dutilh Church
By: Leigha Pindroh, Director of Communications
May always feels like a busy month. It marks the start of a new season—spring sports are in full swing, the school year is winding down, and excitement fills the air with end-of-year parties, field trips, field days, and celebrations. At the same time, many families are preparing for summer—making plans for vacations, camps, Vacation Bible School, and long evenings with friends and family.
While this time of year is often considered a “slow season” in church life—a breath of relief after the full and meaningful Lenten season and Easter celebrations—Dutilh Church doesn’t ever seem to slow down completely. We’re either really busy… or just busy!
This season provides the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and get excited about what’s ahead. This weekend, we’ll celebrate 15 new members joining the church through confirmation, hearing their declarations of faith and their commitment to becoming active members of our congregation.
In early June, we’ll gather again to celebrate our graduates as they prepare for new chapters—whether that’s college, careers, or other next steps. We’ll also officially welcome new members into our Dutilh family.
Later in June, the church will be buzzing with energy as children and volunteers fill the building for Vacation Bible School. This year, we’ll be heading to True North, learning to trust Jesus in the wild! And in July, we’ll open our doors to the community once again for our annual Flea Market.
Throughout the summer, we’ll continue to invite our neighbors and friends to experience Dutilh Church—whether through Preschool Summer Story Times, providing popsicles and a comfortable place for moms and families at Cranberry Township Community Daysor our annual Worship in the Park at Cranberry Park.
See what I mean? It’s never truly a quiet season—but what a gift it is to stay busy with meaningful events, fellowship, and services that breathe life into our church through our members and community.
This is the perfect moment to take a deep breath and look forward with anticipation to all that’s ahead for Dutilh Church. We cherish the calm, but we’re filled with joy and hope for the exciting months to come.
