Stunning Summer Story Time
By Robyn Mullin
Summer is in full swing at Dutilh Preschool, and we are excited to welcome families for our second story time of the summer! This month’s book is The Little Ice Cream Truck by Margery Cuyler; a sweet story that’s perfect for a warm summer morning. We hope you’ll join us for a fun morning of stories, activities, friends and fellowship.
Our first Story Time was a wonderful success! Last month we welcomed about 25 preschoolers and their families as we read Some Bugs by Angela DiTerlizzi. After enjoying the story together we did The Millipede March with DannyGo, the children explored various hands on activities. Little learners loved digging through the sensory bin filled with beans, bugs and all things outdoors. We built some construction paper bugs, had a bug rescue, used dot stickers to make symmetric bugs and matched up some upper and lower case letter bugs.
Everyone enjoyed a beautiful butterfly themed snack while spending time with friends, both old and new. To wrap up the morning, we spent some time outside on the playground on the gorgeous summer morning. It was a joy to see families connecting, friends laughing and our preschool community coming together.
Summer Story Time is a wonderful way for families to stay connected during the summer months while introducing young children to the excitement of books and learning.
We look forward to seeing our friends again this week as we read The Little Ice Cream Truck. Bring a friend, enjoy the story and celebrate another fun-filled summer morning with us. We can’t wait to share this time together!
