Summertime and the Singing is Easy
By: Rob Lynch, Director of Traditional Music
This past Sunday, Pentecost, concluded our choir season, but that doesn’t mean the music stops. Because Easter was so late this year, our bell choir, choir, and ukulele ensembles were hard at work into June! During the brief choir reprieve throughout the summer, individual members of Dutilh’s Music Ministry will continue to share their gifts at the 11 o’clock service.
We can look forward to vocal solos and duets from our cantors and choir members, a clarinet solo from Rachel Schultz, the Humphries creating a small family orchestra, and more. These offerings are not performances during worship; they are members of our church family sharing their God-given gifts for the glory of God. May we never lose sight of how blessed we are to have so many talented members of our congregation willing to share their talents each and every week here at Dutilh.
If you’ve ever felt a desire to share your musical gifts, whether you’ve been singing or playing for years or are just starting out, summer is a wonderful time to step forward. Reach out if you’re interested, I’d love to help you find a way to be part of our ministry. The 'summertime singing' is easy, but the joy is abundant.
