Dutilh Church Receives the Mazzoni Spirit of Giving Award

On Monday, October 6th Dutilh Church was awarded the Mazzoni Spirit of Giving Award from the Cranberry Public Library. The Mazzoni Spirit of Giving Award, which was established in 2013, is awarded annually to acknowledge individuals and groups who have demonstrated the following:

  • Generously supports the library by sharing their time, talents, and resources

  • Exhibits a creative vision for the future of Library Service within the community

  • Shows an unselfish dedication to serving the library

  • Acts an exemplary ambassador on the library’s behalf

  • Demonstrates inspirational library and community leadership

Dutilh Church has long supported the library’s different programs and events. In 2019, the church underwrote the creation of the textile arts and crafts component of the library’s Forge Ahead makerspace project. Most recently, the church sponsored the library’s Story Walk, a new feature along the Cranberry Township Municipal Center’s Armstrong Great Lawn.

During the presentation, Library Director Leslie Pallotta, quoted John Wesley, emphasizing his belief in literacy for all, and highlighted Pastor Tom Parkinson’s years of dedicated service on the library board.

Lori Sedlak, Dutilh Church Board President, accepted the award on behalf of the congregation, sharing that while Dutilh does not serve for recognition, the honor is a meaningful reminder to continue showing up and supporting both the library and the broader community.
